What happened to Henry VIII’s great Whitehall Palace and what did the early Stuart kings do at the Banqueting House, its last remaining part? Although intended for play and masques, this building is more famous as the place of execution of Kings Charles I. Explore its colourful and turbulent history with Siobhan Clarke and climb to the viewing gallery (not open to the public) for a closer look at the magnificent Rubens ceiling – the only one of his works still in its original location.

There will be two tours available on each of the following dates, at 10:15am and 12noon.

  • 10th June (10:15am sold out)
  • 23rd June (12pm sold out)
  • 8th July (12pm sold out)

Starting promptly in the Undercroft at 10.15am and 12 Noon

Please note that these events will go on sale at 09.00 on Monday 20th March 2017
